Donald Trump is once again breaking the law, and kids are paying the price.
The Government Accountability Office has now confirmed that for the fourth time in just a few weeks the Trump administration has illegally impounded funding, this time for the Renew America's Schools program, which helps schools lower costs and upgrade classrooms.[1]
These are the same dollars that Congress approved on a bipartisan basis. Trump just decided to block them because he wants to funnel public money into the hands of billionaires.
While schoolchildren sit in outdated classrooms, Trump is trying to “defer” up to $30 billion across a dozen agencies, all while celebrating the enactment of his $4 trillion tax giveaway mostly to the ultra-rich.[2]
